When is the Best Timeframe for Newborn Photos?

Babies are typically at their sleepiest and most womb-like in those first 10 days or so of life, which makes it the perfect window for capturing those sweet, peaceful newborn portraits. During this stage, little ones are usually still content to be posed easily and swaddled, creating a cozy setup for beautiful, timeless images. After the 2-week mark, babies often become more alert and may start showing a little more personality, which can make those sleepy newborn poses a bit harder to achieve. For the best chance at those dreamy, classic portraits, it’s a good idea to schedule your newborn session with me just a few days after birth whenever possible.
